Ukulele Sail - Report

The weather gods satisfied our every prayer on Saturday 15 November when 31 intrepid explorers set sail on South Passage. Our plan was to sail from Manly around Green Island and over to St Helena Island for a picnic lunch and ukulele jam, before motoring back to Manly.

Sailing conditions were perfect for the ukulele landlubbers, with sunny skies and light winds. The ship heeled gently as we left the mainland so we knew we were sailing. No sign of sea sickness on this voyage!

See more photos and read all about a wonderful day of music, sun and sea!

Jazz on Ukulele - Report

On Sunday 9 November, Cathy and Angie (The Wild Women of Anywhere Beach), gave us a fascinating three hours of exposure to the joys of playing jazz on ukulele.  For many of us, it was plain that there is a difference between understanding jazz on the ukulele and getting our fingers (both left and right) to follow.  But they had tips!

Pick up all the hints and a detailed report here.

Out On Bail - A Top Review

Unofficial ABC music and concert reviewer, John from Kallangur joined Out On Bail on 15th November. John is an authority on concerts around the country and appears on the ABC Brisbane Breakfast show.

In his Monday morning Gig report, and again on Thursday, he identified Out on Bail as a must-see band. ABC listeners are asking for more details about Out on Bail performances.

The BUMS community can be very proud of Out on Bail.  Interested players are always welcome. Practice is most Sunday afternoons from 2:00–4:00pm.

Read all about it here.
