BUMS salute Louis Dort

BUMS member Louis Dort passed away on Monday 9 June after a four-year battle with cancer.  He and Kaye were regulars at Ferny Grove jam and sometimes Northside jam. Those who knew him would remember his zest for life and his love of music, photography and his family.

Linda Gough and Kevin Buckley played Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Who’ll Stopped the Rain’ as the first song in the Ferny Grove jam on 18 June.  About 60 BUMS joined in lustily to a song by one of Louis’ favourite bands.

Linda and Kevin were joined by Peter Grace at the Garden Chapel at Albany Creek Memorial Park on 20 June. They sang and played an Elvis classic ‘The Wonder of You’ to open the celebration of Louis’ life. Six other BUMS were in attendance and joined family and friends afterwards at Eaton’s Hill Tavern.
