Well-travelled visitor at Northside jam in March

Great night at Geebung Bowls Club on Wednesday night. Numb Bums led the first set, beginning with a golden oldie "Five foot Two". It was a diverse set, including songs from Bob Dylan, The Drifters and The Seekers.  Good to see Diane Davis getting comfortable on bass.

Spare Parts took us through the next set. Some great songs in the mix, including "Bus Stop" by the Hollies, Sunny Afternoon by the Kinks and Don't Stop by Fleetwood Mac.  Thanks to Kevin Buckley for filling in on bass at short notice.

We had a very special visitor, Yvonne from Aberdeen in Scotland – she was at BUMS jams in early 2024 and had to come back. Not entirely sure if I believe her when she told us that she came all this way, just to play at the BUMS jams but it was extra special to share our music with her. Peter played a song called One Meatball, at her request. Thank you for your visit, Yvonne and I hope we see you again one day!

Andrew finished up the night with some well-known numbers and a great little song called Tap Tap, calling on the talents of some well-coordinated percussion players! The night ended right on time, leaving us with an ear worm, "The Night Owls" by Little River Band, in our heads all the way home!  Great to see another bass player stepping up - well done Derek Farrell.
