Cool night at the Ferny Grove jam

What a great night! Numbers were down a little, not surprisingly, since it was the final State of Origin game and absolutely freezing! There may be a few Maroons supporters who wished they had come to BUMS instead!

Linda and Kev led the first and third sets with some great songs, including ‘Believe’ by Cher and a fantastic effort by Kev singing “Walk Right Back” by the Everly Brothers. The second set was led by Lindas group, The Ferny Groovers, and included some favourite songs like ‘Echo Beach’, ‘Flowers’ and Knock Three Times’.

We were fortunate to be entertained by two Open Mike performances. In the first break, a group of Lindas Daytripper students performed ‘Moonlight Shadow’, highlighting some impressive strumming and vocals.

In the second break, Donna and Derek sang three songs for us…’Ride On’ by Christy Moore, ‘Ready for the Storm’ by Dougie Maclean and a rather naughty little song called ‘The Bantom Cock’ by Jake Thackery. Have a listen on Spotify if you get the chance.
