WEBUMS at the Archive

10th July 2024
By Peter Grace

Cath McCourt was back to lead WEBUMS on Tuesday 9 July.  We’ve now moved into the larger of the two function rooms and it’s brighter and an all-round better space for a jam.  There are tables to put your drinks and food on. Come along and give it a try.

Cath with Simon and Frank kicked of the first set with an Engelbert Humperdinck song – now there’s a blast from the 1960s. There were some great jam songs in her two sets including Wilson Picket’s ‘In the Midnight Hour’ and the Beatles ‘Oh Darling’.

Amanda Alwood and Cath ran the middle set and had us all singing with Frankie Valli, Dumb Things and Short People.

Les Briant treated us to an open mic of Jane S Piddy by Rodrigeuz.

BUMS welcomed Keith as a new member.  He saw us on the Channel 9 News and came along to check out a jam.  He told us he will get his ukulele out and dust it off.

The Archive Boutique Brewery is a great venue for jams.  It’s on the second Tuesday of the month - next edition is 13 August.  Come and give it a try.
