BUMS needed!

If you have been to the Coorparoo Bowls Club, you will know we have installed a stage in the upstairs function room. We want to make more use of it and have been approached by a ukulele band to put on a concert. We are keen to take this opportunity and attract ukulele lovers and those new to ukulele.
We’d like to create a ‘concert’ team – a group of members who would take on the tasks of setting up the event, promoting it and putting it on. If you’re up for that, read on.

It's very exciting!

BUMS have been offered the chance to host a performance by a well-seasoned ukulele band. We will run this event at Coorparoo Bowls Club, using our wonderful stage.

We’d like to create a ‘concert’ team – a group of members who would take on the tasks of setting up an event, promoting it and putting it on.  Are you up for that?  We have the venue and the sound equipment; we have the website and newsletters to promote the event and Member Jungle can handle ticket sales.  All we need is you.

A committee member will be team leader, but……  to make this work we need some support from our ukulele community.

There are no “iffs”, we need the “butts”.

We would like each community group and jam to provide two helpers.

The team members will have a range of skills and attributes from writing promotional material, setting up the performance space, to setting out chairs and greeting audience members at the front desk.  You would need to be available on a Saturday evening from 5.00pm to 9.30pm

If you know how to plug-in equipment, and lay down cables at your venue, we need you.

If you know how to set up chairs following a floor plan, we need you.

If you know how to stack chairs and put them away, we need you.

If you can use a square reader to process payments, and Member Jungle to scan people in, we need you.

If you know how to help people find a seat in a hall full of empty chairs we need you.

We will provide you with clear instructions, any necessary training on the night, and there will be an experienced “setter-upperer” to guide you through any issues that may arise on the night.
